In the woods

In our cabin,

Away from the world,

We would have shelves so stuffed with books

That any 10 of the nearest libraries couldn’t compete in volume.

I would read to you until you fell asleep each night

And I would wake to your eyes gliding the pages in the morning light.

Candlelit stories.

Fireside reading.

We would be our own entertainment.

And we would lose ourselves in different worlds,

Each and every night we left it all

To be together

Alone in our cabin

in the woods
